How would you describe Fit?
We are a boutique fitness retailer with a yoga and pilates studio. We are a community. We strive for excellent customer service and product knowledge. Our aim is to make every customer feel their best.
What inspires you?
Our customers, their stories and their strength. We’ve heard lots of amazing stories, especially people coming back to an active lifestyle after a physical challenge or illness. Resilience and how exercise can give people purpose and really change their lives.
What is it like working in Harrogate and what do you love about the town?
A joy. I’ve moved around quite a bit but we won’t move again. I absolutely love this town and the sense of community with our customers and other independent retailers. We are so lucky in Harrogate to have such variety and choice of places to eat, drink and shop. We really need to look after each other and keep that going!
Your top tips for a first time visitor?
Go outside the main town centre, go down side streets, explore - that's where you’ll find the hidden gems.
Be confident that you’re in safe hands with that little coffee shop you’ve never heard of, the quality I’ve experienced in Harrogate is hard to replicate!
Whether you’re shopping or eating, don’t settle for a multi - national that you’ll find in every town when you can have an amazing and unique experience with an independent.
Can you share a secret insider place / view / experience?
Too many! But if I had to name one thing that everyone should experience when in Harrogate it’s a Baltzersens cinnamon bun - to die for.
The Valley Gardens at any time of year is beautiful, I love looking up from the little cafe across the pavilion at all the different colours throughout the year. If you’re here in Summer, go on a Sunday when the brass band plays - that was one of the first experiences when we first moved here and it just made me think how lucky we are to live here.
